In the Tibetan Buddhist tradition, Manjushri is known as “Jampeyang”
Jam (འཇམ་) – Gentle, soft, or smooth
Pel (དཔལ་) – Radiant, glorious, or noble
Yang (དབྱངས) – Voice, melody, or speech
When combined, “Jampeyang” translates to “Glorious, Gentle Voice,“ which honors his supreme mastery over the speech and sound that cuts through ignorance
