The story
The Ficus Lyrata in my studio thought me a precious lesson
We are a living network, breathing together
A year ago, my friend shared a story about a dying plant that suddenly grew a tiny flower a couple days after she intended to throw it away. It was as if the plant knew. The story gave me goosebumps. Can plants and humans truly communicate?
To find out, I turned to my Ficus Lyrata, a tree that has been with me for ten years. When I asked permission to prune a branch, a sharp “NO!” echoed in my mind. Dismissing it as my own imagination, I made the cut—and instantly felt a sharp, unexplainable sting in my finger. Weeks later, I tried again. The same “NO!” arose, but I cut anyway. This time, a wave of deep, intense grief struck my entire body. As the tree bled its sap, I shed real tears
In that moment, tears of grief turned into tears of excitement. I realized I was picking up the plant’s energy. Humans and nature could communicate. Filled with awe, I promised the tree to care for the cutting as a beautiful new baby tree
This gift of interconnectedness became a turning point in my life, shaping my path toward Intuition Edition. Today, that cutting is a thriving baby Ficus. One day, when he leaves the house, it will be a gift for my son carrying with it this precious wisdom of how everything alive is connected
